Our Name Says It All!

As Internet users and ecommerce merchants, the management of Affordable Hoster found a huge gap in hosting options for small business owners. Visiting forums and discussions with others revealed a large, dissatisfied group of folks who felt they had been taken advantage of, or ignored, by both "name brand" and small, local hosting companies.

While this feeling was true across the board in the small business community, it was most apparent with those who were operating on-line stores or shopping carts. Many felt that they were forced to sell their products from over-priced "shops" offered by "the big boys." Others were terribly frustrated with the weeks and sometimes months it often took to get a site up and running by a local hosting company.

For that reason, we decided to offer reasonably priced on-line stores. Since we found vast variations in both intenet knowledge and computer skills, we opted for Open Source, free, shopping carts. The carts can all have their data set up and edited in simple spreadsheets, rather than complex databases, making them ideal for those with basic computer skills. Access to the free Open Office suite of products is all that is needed to set up a shopping cart.

In that same vein, we offer and suggest several free ftp clients and html editors, as well as "site building" programs.

We also found there were many "newbie" affiliate marketers who felt they had to pay for way more then they required, simply to put up a page on the net. For them we have set up our MiniSite Plan.

Our entire purpose is to help small business people compete on the Internet. For those who know the net, we offer high storage, unmetered bandwidth hosting, where they can do their own thing.

For those dissatisfied with their current providers, we offer a compassionate option.

And for the newbies, we offer hand-holding through the site or shopping cart process. We don't force all to have to pay to support a few. We offer options for all.
