The Basic Systems

We take pride in our fleet of state of the art servers with up to 1 Terabyte of storage in each server.

Due to our large capacity systems, we are able to offer a large amount of disk space with each of our hosting plans.

Even our basic MiniSite Plan has enough space for virtually any web site, with unlimited email accounts and space to spare for future expansion.

Many hosts don't allow you to store 'electronic files' and restrict how much space you can actually use on budget hosting accounts.. With our accounts we don't have these kind of hidden restrictions and you can store music, video, software, images webpage etc. etc. (as long as it does not violate copyright laws). Sorry, does not apply to our MiniSite Plan.

Unmetered Bandwidth

Thanks to recent Network upgrades at our datacenter and a large drop in the price of our bandwidth, we are now able to offer unmetered bandwidth.

It is possible to host mutli media rich websites, even with audio and video content, with us and experience very fast download speeds without the worry of a set monthly usage limit.

CPanel Control Panel

The CPanel control panel is the most popular and demanded control panel by webhosting clients. It gives powerful control of your hosting account, while being easy and straight forward to use. From the control panel it is possible to setup email accounts, view website statistics, check and write email and many other functions including using our large range of pre-installed (Fantastico) software packages, like Blogs and Forums and website templates.

Our MiniSite Plan does not include a CPanel, but does have all of the Fantastico scripts available.

MySQL - PhP - CGI - Front Page Support

We offer MySQL (Version 5), PhP Version 5, Perl, and Microsoft Front Page support with all of our hosting plans, at no additional cost.

Our accounts are "fully featured", giving you the ability to run your own shopping carts, forums, blogs, galleries, content management systems and almost any other PhP or Perl software.

PhP is built with all of the highly demanded extra features, such as GD Libraries, Image Magick, Curl, Free Type Fonts and Zend Optimizer.

Webmail / Email

Our email server can be accessed by both the convenient, web based Webmail interfaces (like Yahoo or Hotmail) and also via an email client such as Outlook Express, via PoP3, IMAP and SMTP protocols. Depending on your plan, an aunlimited number of email accounts of your choice can easily be created through the control panel. (MiniSite Plan is limited to 20 accounts per site.)

Pre-installed "Fantastico" Software

You don't have to be a web guru or hire a programmer to install and use our advanced software collection.

At Small Business Hoster we offer a large variety of powerful software bundled with each account, all available at no extra cost. Software can be installed and ready to use with just a few clicks of your mouse and can transform the way your web site looks and functions. (With the MiniSite Plan, we do the install for you.)

Software includes Shopping Carts and E-commerce software, Forums, Content Management, Blogging software, Guestbooks, website building templates and more, all available at no extra cost.

FREE Templates

We can supply 100's of Free Templates! Single page "sales pages" to complete multi-page sites, we have access to literally hundreds of FREE Templates for you to chose from. Your only problem will be having the time to view them all!

Spam Protection

Spam is a major problem. Some reports indicate that over 80% of all email traffic is Spam. In an effort to combat the problem, Small Business Hoster offers several levels of Spam filtering on the email system. "Spam Assassin" is one software package that is included with Cpanel. It is completely user controllable from the control panel and it will filter out the vast majority of spam without taking out "good" email. You may optionally turn Spam Assassin off.

Graphical Statistics

Monitoring the activity on a website is often an important and interesting activity. We offer several automatic, easy to view graphical and numeric statistics displays to track your most popular pages, number of hits, referrers and review lots of other valuable information.

Sub Domains

You can create sub domains for your main domain name easily through the control panel. For example, if your domain is called http://www.yourdomain.com you can create sub domains like http://subdomain.yourdomain.com.

Parked Domains

You may have several domains that you wish to all point to the one website. This can be done using the Parked domain feature that we offer through the control panel.

Please note that none of our hosting accounts include free domain names.

SSL Certificates

We do not sell SSL Certificates ourselves, but recommend you purchase one HERE for $ 19.95 per year - or less!

We will install your SSL Certificate FREE, but you must have a Dedicated IP Address for an SSL Certificate. (See next item.)

24/7 Emergency Support

If one of our servers does go off-line or a serious problem develops, our technicians, who are on standby 24/7, are automatically alerted within minutes via pager, as a result of our monitoring system that monitors all of our servers continuously from several locations around the globe. Our servers and network are also monitored by our staff in real time from a central control room. There is always someone available to look into any issues that may arise.

FTP

Like almost all webhosts, we offer FTP access so that you can transfer your own files to our servers. For our clients' convenience we have a 1 hour time-out for the FTP connection. This means that there is no need to keep reconnecting to the FTP server while editing and uploading your site pages.

We also offer a built-in file manager which can be used as a simple alternative to using an FTP client to move files to and from the server.

Support

Our support staff are properly trained and experienced in the industry. They are ready to provide assistance promptly and professionally. We do not outsource our support to a third party company. We take pride in running our own support system.

The staff members who answer support requests are experienced, mature, trained technicians, not just 'call center' staff that answer requests using rigid, pre-written, scripted answers. Each support request is investigated and replied to personally with a reply tailored to respond to the request.

Servers

We user commercial quality high powered webservers. All servers are load balanced across our network and run at a low average load level with limited account stacking on each server. CPU usage is typically at less than 10% daily average usage.

Server software is updated on a daily basis with security patches and upgrades. We run advanced firewall protection and strict, professionally setup security policies designed to ensure maximum system security. In 5 years of hosting 10,000+ websites we have never had a 'hacking' incident.

Uptime

All of our servers have maintained an uptime of 99.9% (including Network / Server upgrades), we have specific policies in place to ensure that unnecessary downtime does not occur.

Our connection to the Internet is fully redundant with several Gigabit connections, offering extremely fast and reliable performance for your website(s). Our data center has a complete power backup system so that power outages do not affect the operation of our servers. The Level 3 network is also used by AOL servers and is one of the most advanced and largest networks in the world.

Small Business Hoster does not allow the hosting of adult content or gambling sites. We also do not allow Warez or Bit Torrent tracking sites. This decision helps to prevent our IPs from being blocked and ensures fast network performance.

Backups

Our servers undergo regular backups so that in the event of a system failure, a backup of 24 hours old, or less should be available to rebuild the server.

However, we strongly suggest you have a current copy of your site stored locally and that you backup any databases on a regular basis.

Client Privacy Concerns

Small Business Hoster will not divulge personal client information to third parties. Your financial transactions are handled on off-site secure servers. Clients may be contacted by Small Business Hoster occasionally for feedback on the level of satisfaction with our services and to provide information on service status and upcoming maintenance.
